On Friday, June 3, 2005 a prominent German television channel, ZDF, featured a report on Bernhard Edmaier’s work entitled ‘Pure Nature and Yet Art’ on its prime time news programme.
A ZDF filming team spent a day in Ampfing, Bernhard Edmaier’s home village, and accompanied him with a camera on his workday. The team was not only busy making a record of his daily routine in the lab and his office, but also closely followed his work of taking aerial photos. The weather was not very co-operative. In pouring rain, a Pilatus Porter plane usually used for parachute jumpers took off to the east as the sky was still blue there. After approximately 20 minutes, the plane reached the golden patch of sunshine so that aerial photos of the floodplains of the Rivers Inn and Salzach and their confluence could be taken.
