Bernhard Edmaier`s aerial shot of Aletsch Glacier in Switzerland, the largest and longest glacier to be found in the Alps, was reproduced on a 30 x 20 metre large panel and served as backdrop for the production of the opera "Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny" staged by the Bern Municipal Theatre (Stadttheater Bern).
The opera was performed several times in October and November 2006.
The blow-up on fabric was produced by BIG IMAGE, a specialiced company in Berlin-Stahnsdorf.
