THE RIVER KöSSEIN

In winter, the dark waters of the meandering river are in sharp contrast to the white snow mantle. The shadows of the leafless black alders on its banks draw a filigree pattern on the snow.

The River Kössein, also referred to as stream, is only few kilometres long and springs up from beneath the 939 m high peak of the Kössein, an impressive granite massif in the Fichtelgebirge mountain range.
