The sea between the islands of individual atolls is 30 to 50 m deep. Only at very few points it reaches 90 m in depth. Water temperature oscillates between 25 to 32 degrees centigrade, depending on the monsoon seasons.
This deserted chain of coral reefs and small islands is located on the edge of the South Ari Atoll, and the channels between the islands are called kandu in the Maldivian language.
