The Namib Desert in Namibia considered as the oldest in the world, believed to have formed 20 million years ago. Here, the dunes wander. The grains of sand are blown by the wind up the side of the dune to the ridge, where they roll down the other side. In this way, their narrow ridges gradually slither across the dry, stony ground.
